About me
I’m Chris, and I’ve worked in arboriculture for around 10 years. I spent four years running a team in England before travelling to Australia, where I worked for nearly three years as a lead climber for several companies and had the opportunity to take on FIFO arborist work in places including the Torres Strait Islands.
Working across different companies and different parts of the industry gave me a good view of how tree businesses actually operate - not just the work on site, but everything that has to happen behind the scenes to keep jobs moving.

Built from real experience
I’ve built ArbHQ closely with my dad, who ran an Arboricultural Association Approved Contracting Company in the South East of England for 26 years and has run a Lantra Approved Training Provider and a City & Guilds Assessment Centre for the last 19 years.
Tree work runs deeper in the family too. My grandfather worked for the National Trust for 30 years, including as a regional and national adviser in forestry and arboriculture, and won the Arboricultural Association Award in 1992, making me the third generation of the family to work within the industry.
I recently left my job as an arborist to work on ArbHQ full time. I built the platform myself, and it continues to improve based on feedback from the tree businesses using it.
The aim is simple: make the admin side of running a tree business as straightforward as possible.
